YWCA WNY’s Housing Services empowers women by providing stable housing and supportive services, working with clients to achieve the life skills necessary to overcome challenges associated with domestic violence and homelessness. The program provides opportunities to build healthy support systems and work toward achieving permanent housing and economic self-sufficiency. With two locations in the City of Buffalo, YWCA WNY’s Teen Empowerment & Mentoring Program provides after-school programming to Buffalo high school students throughout the school year. Students who successfully complete the program participate in summer job placement. We have a long tradition of delivering comprehensive and high quality programs and services that foster healthy development and nurture the potential of every child. Serving low-income children and their families in Western New York, our comprehensive children and youth services programs provide educational, social, emotional and wellness services. The YWCA of WNY offers housing services to homeless women and their children. The YWCA of WNY has apartments in scattered sites through the area. These apartments are for women who are victims of domestic violence and or homelessness. School House commons provides safe and secure housing for low-income seniors. We have 60 independent living apartment units, funded under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Section 202 Housing of the Elderly.Housing Services
